Extreme Kites held an event in Yeppoon located on the North East coast of Australia. We appreciate the support from HQ PowerKites with their national distributor BrisKites for this event. This was the first time we held this event in this location, and considering that it is 8 hours away from the closest major capital city we were thrilled by the turn out.
HQ kites were on display for all to demo and enjoy, AndyFly had his first freestyle buggy session on a HQ Montana 5 and after a short time was sailing meters above our heads in perfect, smooth, sunny and warm onshore winds with the HQ Montana 5 9.5m.
The HQ Montana 5 proved not only popular with those airborne, but also those offering rides to the locals on the beach. With the Montana 5?s massive depower and maximum wind range it gave Mike Hall (wolfie) the perfect engine for giving the locals and others trips up and down the beach in his Australian built buggy.
Nicholas Jones one of the youngest kiters at the event set 52.6km/h in his buggy on the HQ Prodigy 4.2. This is officially the highest speed for a pilot of his age in Australia. Nicholas was named the most inspiring kiter for the weekend watching him hold on to the kite massively overpowered. He won himself a Shred Ready helmet from BrisKites the national HQ Distributor for Australia for being the weekend?s most inspiring kiter.
It was great to see HQ PowerKites colour the sky for 4 days with HQ Montana, Prodigy, Crossfire II and Beamer 3?s all over the sand and sky.
